Реферат: The role of radical ions in the photoisomerization of stilbenes in the presence of triphenylamine, N,N,N′,N′-tetramethyl-1,4-phenylenediamine, p-chloranil, 9-cyanophenanthrene, 9-cyanoanthracene and decafluorobenzil has been studied. If radical anions of stilbenes or radial cations of trans-stilbene are formed in the reaction, isomerization takes place in the triplet-excited stilbene molecule. If radical cations of cis-stilbene are formed they self-isomerize.
