Реферат: Aluminum–copper–chromium-oxide catalysts are widely used in highly exothermal catalytic combustion and VOC removal, although the interaction of the active component with the support through catalytic process yields phase conversions and causes deactivation of the catalyst. To increase the catalyst thermostability, which is primarily determined by that of the support, the latter is modified by various additives, decelerating phase conversion in the support. The X-ray method was recently used to study the thermal stability of alumina supports promoted with La2O3 and CeO2, as well as the phase composition and thermal stability of Cr/Al2O3, Cu/Al2O3, and Cr–Cu/Al2O3. This chapter presents a comparison among the thermal stabilities of Cr–, Cu–, and Cr–Cu systems on alumina support promoted by La and Ce. La ions introduced into alumina structure decrease the solubility of Cu and Cr ions, thus, providing the decrease of the mineralizing effect. The results obtained from the data available on the mineralizing effect of Cu suggest that to suppress α-phase formation in alumina catalysts, the introduced stabilizing ion should first restrict the solubility of the catalyst components possessing a pronounced mineralizing effect and then form a compound with the alumina stable at high temperatures.
