The kinetics of cumene oxidation was investigated in a bubble column reactor at different temperatures of the reaction mixture in the range 378−403 K. The Arrhenius parameters of the reaction rate constants of cumene oxidation were determined as a result of solving inverse kinetic problem. Design of cumene oxidation was carried out from the point of view of finding a compromise between the values of cumene conversion, selectivity and the minimum of total annual cost per unit of the target product (TAC). It was shown that for cumene oxidation the cascade of three bubble column reactors is optimal from the point of view of the minimum value of the TAC. Wherein the optimal reaction mixture temperature in all reactors of cascade is 372 K. The further increase of the number of reactors in a cascade does not make any economic sense. The economic analysis showed the independence of the minimum TAC value on the temperature mode in the reactors (with a decrease or increase the temperature from reactor to reactor), since there is no decrease in the TAC value.
