Реферат: The state of Ti(III) ions in ethylene polymerization catalysts prepared by interaction of Ti(CH2C6H5)4 with SiO2 was studied by the ESR technique. Several types of Ti(III) ions, differing in ligand environment were observed. The relative amounts of Ti(III) ions of different types depend on the catalyst composition and the parameters of catalyst treatment. The formation of the Ti-H bond was found in samples heated under vacuum or treated with hydrogen. The nature of hyperfine splitting of hydrogen in the Ti(III)H bond was analyzed. The interaction of Ti(III) ions with H2 and C2H4 was studied. The adsorption of ethylene on titanium ions at low temperatures was followed by insertion of ethylene into the Ti-H and Ti-C bonds when the temperature was increased. By the ESR technique the hydrogenolysis of the Ti-C bond and its thermal decomposition by hydrogen transfer mechanism were followed under polymerization conditions.
