Реферат: Publisher Summary: The reaction of isotopic exchange in molecular O2 helps in the study of mechanism of catalytic oxidation reactions. The study of this reaction provides the information about the nature of O2 bonds on the surface of oxidation catalysts. If the O2 of a catalyst has the same content of Ol8 as the reaction mixture, the atomic isotopic composition of the reaction mixture remains unaffected in the process of exchange, while the relative content of molecular species with masses 32, 34, and 36 changes. This chapter describes the variation of the rate of this process with the depth of conversion, as in the case of any reaction of isotopic exchange, by the first-order equation regardless of the true mechanism of reaction. The isotopic exchange with O2 of a catalyst involves (1) the dissociative adsorption of oxygen with the formation of adsorbed atoms or atomic ions, (2) the exchange of these adsorbed atoms or ions with oxygen ions of oxide, and (3) the desorption in form of molecules.
