Abstract: The effect of support nature, composition, and method of preparation of ruthenium-containing catalysts on their efficiency in the complex gas purification from CO, NO, and C3H6 (C3H8) in the presence of oxygen was studied. Cerium additives were found to improve the activity and the thermal stability of a platinum-ruthenium catalyst and to make ruthenium less volatile. The proposed Pt-Ru-Ce catalyst meets the standards for exhaust gases from internal-combustion engines.
