Abstract: We have demonstrated the effect of the radius of the M(II) ion on formation of hydroxoaluminates. We have established the limiting radius of the M(II) ion: when this value is exceeded, intercalation of nitrate salts into the mechanochemical activation product of aluminum trihydroxide does not occur. The nature of the aluminohydroxyl matrix exerts a substantial effect on intercalation of salts.
