Abstract: The objective of this paper is to analyze the effect of changes in the nature of the surface on the values of the specific surface area calculated from adsorption data. The authors use adsorption methods for determining the specific surface area of systems of variable chemical composition. The advantage has been demonstrated of differential comparative methods over the BET method and other integrated methods, as well as the possibility, in principle, of calculating the surface area from the region of high relative pressures of the sorbate vapor.
